This stunning 80-foot (23.99 m x 6.00 m), lightened carbon, is designed to give the owner the ability to helm and maneuver in total autonomy from the aft cockpit. A deck as clean and “flush” as Y Yachts’ Y8 is a joy to behold. Yachts have become increasingly complicated. Equipment manufacturers have introduced many unnecessary functions and systems that only generate complexity and cause problems on board.

Y Yachts creates yachts that have no more than the features needed to sail fast and at the same time in comfort. “It wasn’t easy for our team of experts to get their hands on what was necessary and what wasn’t to achieve this goal,” they say at Michael Schmidt’s site. But they finally succeeded. The naval architecture of the Y8 Y Yachts is “made in Italy” with design by Studio Brenta and Lorenzo Argento.

In chronological order, the first model built was the Y8 DC, which counted on archistar Sir David Chipperfield for the interior, who made simplicity and attention to detail the mainstay below deck.

Carefully selected materials such as natural leather, brushed stainless steel, and natural woods create a new kind of interior. All interior design solutions are intelligently designed so that you can concentrate on navigating.

Despite the impressive size of the Y8 Y Yachts, a light breeze is enough to make the boat fly, thanks to the fast lines of Studio Brenta and Lorenzo Argento. The sophisticated selection and placement of fittings and equipment allow the Y8 to be maneuvered with ease and in very few steps.

Y8 Y Yachts SRD (Semi Raised Deck)

With years of sailing experience, interior designer Mark Tucker, owner of Design Unlimited, has created a classic, warm and inviting interior for the Y8 SRD.

His goal was to design a yacht that could be sailed with great comfort by a family without a professional crew.

Since customization is one of the keys to the Y8 Y Yachts, as to all Y Yachts boats, you can design the interior of the Y8 SRD according to your wishes, from the layout and number of cabins to the choice of interior designer.

Y8 Y Yachts SRD

The new Y8 Y Yachts SRD , currently under construction and scheduled for launch in 2021, is a real “plus” in the Y8 range.

Drawing on the experience gained from previously launched Y8s, the shipyard worked with future owners to further develop the project. The boat features a fully integrated dolphin boat, which allows for even more sail area, while at the same time safely storing the anchor.

The cockpit is larger and offers a U-shaped lounge area. Below deck, the aft area offers even more room for your ideas, so whether you want a full-beam master cabin, guest cabins or crew area with galley is up to you.
