Impression 43
New in the Elan household! The Impression line, historically dedicated to family cruising, is enriched by the new Impression 43 (13.32 x 4.25 m), a distinctly modern and eye-catching boat that breaks with the past. The hull and sail plan were designed by Humphreys Yacht Design, while the overall and interior design is by Studio Pininfarina (who also designed the award-winning Elan E6). The hull will have a double rudder blade and L-shaped keel. The layout for the interior layout will be 2 or 3 cabins. The displacement is about 11 tons.
Exteriors
The deck of the Elan Impression 43 is a well-designed and functional space. Style and practicality are the key words. Lots of unobstructed space that allows free movement while accessing large sunbathing areas. The cockpit is generously sized and provides a space for relaxing and socializing. Here are the two wheelhouses, an opening swim platform that can be chosen in small or large versions, and a large double center table. Indispensable built-in refrigerator and grill.
The deck equipment aboard the Elan Impression 43 is designed to be easy to use. One of the main features is precisely the arrangement of the halyards and sheets: the former on the deckhouse in the classic position, while the primary winches for the sheets are within reach of the helmsman. This allows the crew to maneuver the sails with ease, even with a small number of people on board. The two steering gears provide total visual control over the boat and offer precise and sensitive steering. Platforms that can be configured according to one’s taste in electronics.
In summary, the deck of the Elan Impression 43 is a combination of functionality, comfort, and aesthetic design.
The sail plan, on the other hand, includes, as standard, a mainsail and a self-tacking jib, plus an ever-present but optional gennaker. A furling mainsail and genoa are also provided as an optional package. The tree is split with double-order crosses.
Interior
The hue of color that the oak wood gives to the interior, moreover, which is spacious and bright, a basic feature to be respected in the construction of a boat intended for cruise use, is notable. Quality finishes and a modern design for these interiors designed by Elan in collaboration with Pininfarina. They are designed to provide maximum comfort on board, whether sailing or at anchor.
Once we enter the wide, non-steep staircase, we find a large main hall characterized by a bright and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the large light openings on the broadside that allow natural light to enter and provide a panoramic view of the surroundings.
A highlight of the Impression 43’s interior is natural ventilation. There are a number of windows, portholes, and hatches that allow for good air circulation, keeping the rooms cool and well ventilated even during the hottest days, but the discerning can also opt for air conditioning.
The kitchen is comparable in space to a small apartment kitchen, which is not to be taken for granted considering the presence of an upright refrigerator and a sink refrigerator. The dinette is C-shaped and is characterized by the absence of the classic bench in the middle replaced by two comfortable seats that are stowed under the forward bed. Excellent storage space and very deep bilge for additional cargo. Space galore thanks to the raised deck that Elan calls a “semi-deck-saloon.” Modern dashboard and beautiful chart corner that is optional, however.
The two bathrooms turn out to be quite large and comfortable. The forward bathroom is a little gem. The forward cabin is very large, and again the fenestration is the dominant feature. A real closet completes this room with a double bed. The forward cabins offer the same space but exploited differently given the engine located under the ladder. The lockers and storage spaces are numerous and well distributed, allowing everything to be kept neat and within easy reach.
