Grand Soleil 52

Grand Soleil 52

The new Grand Soleil 52 Performance, starting from Cantiere del Pardo’s concept, was designed by the proven duo Matteo Polli and Nauta Design and does, in fact, recapture the elegance of its progenitor-beginning with the Navy blue lines on the beauty line-and that harmony of form that, then as now, translates into stability and performance.

Deck plan and sail plan, as well as the live-work, are declined differently in the two versions: the “Performance” one provides an “easy sailing” deck plan with 4 aft winches, mainsail sheet with fixed point, standard self-tacking jib and standard carbon bowsprit; the cockpit is free from rigging to be safely usable by guests.

The “Race” version, on the other hand, features 6 winches, longitudinal rails for the jib, recessed mainsail traveller, increased sail plan and a 90 cm longer carbon bowsprit (compared to the standard version). The mainsail sheet is German style on both versions. The mast is positioned aft of the main bulkhead to optimize the sail center.

The cockpit, furnished with ergonomically designed benches, is fully usable by guests, thanks to the choice to recess all maneuvers. There is no shortage of storage space: the fore sail locker can hold sails of all sizes, including the Code 0, the anchor locker can accommodate the six daily-use fenders, and the fully watertight garage holds the 2.90-meter tender.

Grand Soleil 52 – Interior

Grand Soleil 52 Performance interior - 1

Constructed entirely of sandwich construction with composite wood compartmentation bulkheads, the Grand Soleil 52 Performance was designed down to the smallest detail to make the most of the volumes and offer great comfort and habitability, without affecting weight (and thus performance): the dinette features the charting area in the bow, large storage compartments, and an ergonomic and fully equipped C-shaped galley (present are 3 refrigerators with freezers for a total of 172 liters), to ensure a pleasant stay on board even for long periods.

As for the cabins, three are provided: the master cabin is in the bow with a dedicated bathroom, while the aft VIP cabin-with single or double beds-has direct access to the bathroom (with shower stall), as does the guest cabin on the left, with a double bed.

The owner can opt for different woods, such as oak, gray oak or teak; in all cases, color elegance is ensured by contrasting dunnage.
