Dufour 41
Conceived and designed in close collaboration between the Dufour team, Ardizio Design (interiors) and Felci Yacht Design (naval architecture), the newcomer looks like a responsive and fun 12.75-meter, ideal for the new and growing market demands, directed toward both comfortable and high-performance boats.
Dufour 41 – Exterior
With this 41-footer, Dufour aims to create a multifaceted boat that is valid in different contexts and also capable of satisfying different types of enjoyment. In favor of this, the water lines are designed to provide good passage over the water, keeping the boat smooth and fast but without sacrificing comfort, which remains a cornerstone of the design. With this in mind, to reduce hydrodynamic drag and favor sensitivity, the design team opted for a single blade, however connected to double wheelhouses in the cockpit.
Turning to the emerged volumes, the 4.3-meter beam gives ample deck space, providing a cockpit that is especially comfortable and larger than the standard on equal length. In terms of layout, the design retains traditional solutions, however, undoubtedly cared for and well thought out ergonomics.
Beyond the fold-down swim platform, the cockpit in fact houses a continuous bench facing the transom, a solution that not only provides ample seating space but also safety. On two consoles complete with the necessary instrumentation, we find the two helm wheels installed, while in the cockpit a double sofa configuration creates a convivial area facing a central table.
The running rigging, although it may vary from version to version, appears generally well distributed, with a very forward mainsail traveller and two pairs of winches per board, two of which are at the broadside and two at the deckhouse. Halyards and related are all through and back to the winches in the deckhouse, a position from which they are all ideally well managed while remaining sheltered in the cockpit.
Dufour 41 – Interior
Shifting our attention below deck, the new Dufour 41 offers a total of 4 different layouts, distinguished first of all in 3- or 4-berth and 2- or 3-toilet options, for extra storage or more amenities.Inside what is striking is the forward master cabin presented with an “island” bed unusual on boats like this under ten meters.
Regardless of the option, the layout is still traditional, offering a two double aft berths, central saloon with lounge area and galley, and services/storage between the two. In the bow, on the other hand, we find the great option, with variants of single double with private bathroom or double double, at the expense, however, of the forward bathroom.
