With more than 10 years of experience in manufacturing the well-known Andersen steel winches, Ronstan has now created the foundation for an entire range of aluminum winches: they are the new Orbit Winch The experience gained with Andersen has allowed the parameters of safety, strength, mechanical efficiency and reliability that have always characterized these steel winches to be set, thus setting the design basis for the new Orbit Winch In addition, thanks to a careful study of the needs of maneuvering on board, the materials to be used, optimal weight, dimensions, bell finish and performance have been determined for the brand new range.
Development of these winches began as early as 2018, with focus on three sizes designed for boats up to 11 meters, for which Ronstan is known to specialize with a wide range of deck equipment.
Subsequently, various stages of concepts, details and prototypes were carried forward and then onboard testing began at various locations in Europe and Australia.
The final product represents what Ronstan is now proud and convinced to introduce to the market: a range of ultra-lightweight aluminum winches with an unprecedented grip, a quick and easy disassembly system without tools, and the innovative patented QuickTrim self-tailer system The aluminum range of new Ronstan Orbit Winches is made in Denmark and are currently available in 20:1, 30:1 and 40:1 power ratios, in one and two speeds.
TRIGGERSNAP CARABINERS
Ronstan Triggersnaps are quick-release carabiners made of 15-5PH steel to achieve high working loads and excellent corrosion resistance: available in 3 working load ranges up to 2,400 kg and 2 versions with narrow or enlarged swivel attachment.
Each carabiner is individually tested: the opening mechanism allows release under load, to be done safely with the appropriate spike.
SOFT ATTACHMENT BLOCKS
These textile-attached blocks have a high-load sheave to ensure maximum performance in any situation. The opening cheeks allow the sheet to be easily inserted, and the SK99 Dyneema textile shackle with foreign T-bone ensures that the block can be closed in just a few steps.
Available in three sizes of 2,000, 4,000 and 7,000 kg working load.
BLOCKS S40 ORBIT
Orbit Series 40 blocks are designed for multiple uses. Durable and lightweight, all with ball bearings to ensure maximum efficiency at high loads. They can easily replace larger blocks in many rigging and are perfect for any racing boat. They are available in various configurations and High Load versions.
