Owner together with his brother Marco of the historic charter company with 33 years in business, Antonio Barabino gives us an overview of the upcoming nautical tourism season: “As it had been even in the pandemic years, the month of May is expected to be quiet, thus still offering interesting availabilities and discounts; and similarly at the moment it is also June, while July is already practically sold out. As for the most important month of summer vacations, namely August-for which Cruising Charter is offering a 15 percent discount for early booking for the time being-we still have availability, as well as from mid-September onward. This year’s fleet, which as always is all our own,” adds Antonio Barabino, “consists of 16 boats: there is the entire Bavaria Yachts range, from 32 to 51 feet, plus the new Beneteau Oceanis 40.1, launched this year. Bavarias are currently the most popular boats among charter customers internationally, as confirmed by industry surveys. In particular, the Bavaria 46 Cruiser 4-cabin 3-bath, a boat ranked first in liking in the surveys, turns out to be the ideal charter boat, as it offers ample space, speed and easy handling; there are four examples in our fleet. I also want to emphasize how our dialogue with clients is constant and direct, to combine their needs with safety in navigation; it could not be otherwise, following the sea for us is a family story thanks to dad and before that my grandfather, who took us sailing from when we were just born.” Cruising Charter’s base is in Marina di Portisco, one of Sardinia’s most modern ports that geographically marks the entrance from the south to the Costa Smeralda. It is only thirty minutes from Olbia, served by an international airport and ferry port, and is strategic for reaching all the area’s most sought-after sailing areas: the Emerald Coast, La Maddalena Archipelago, and South Corsica are about a five-hour boat ride away, with a plethora of choices among state-of-the-art roadsteads and marinas. “Our clients ask for advice and routes, they trust our experience because they know that we have been at sea-particularly in this area-since childhood; all our staff have been trained by us, and the company has, with pride, a strong family footprint. Proposals for the summer? The rate for a 3-cabin in June starts from 1,900 euros; the new Oceanis 40.1, 4-cabin, in July starts from 3,376 euros; a 5-cabin in August finally from 4,021 euros.”
