The shipyard has a range dedicated to those who love catamarans but don’t just want them comfortable
C-Cat, the catamaran brand of Comar Yachts, is the Italian alternative for sporty two-hulled cruisers. The yard’s range has five sail models in production, the C-Cat 37,38, 48,56, 65. We presented them as sport cruisers, and indeed these catamarans do not have comfort as their sole focus, as is the case with other shipyards, but they also focus heavily on sailing performance. The flybridge, provided only for the larger models, will not be there in the sportier versions the yard offers of its models, and C-Cats are fast even in breezes.
The C-Cat 48 is the latest model to go into the water, designed by François Perus. It reflects Comar Yachts’ philosophy of producing cat intended for sport cruising. Comfortable, equipped with every comfort, but with distinct sailing capabilities. For this reason, the C-Cat 48 is equipped with two side, curved, dive-adjustable drifts. These help in upwind sailing, and at the reduce hydrodynamic drag under sail.
The new C-Cat model will be the flagship of the range, the 65, a design that propels the shipyard into the world of maxi yachts. The C-Cat 65 is the result of a multi-handed work, entrusted to Enrico Contreas and the firm Amadio & Partners, who put their signature on this catamaran. Even from the first circulated drawings, the catamaran shows a certain identity: sharp, inverted bows, adjustable drifts, a low, tapered living cell, and a net at the bow, the search for lightness, a low center of gravity, and aerodynamic shapes is immediately apparent. C-CAT 38
It represents an upgrade of the 37, the model with which the shipyard entered the catamaran market. The sporty line is the one that also distinguishes its predecessor, but it is longer (11.73 x 5.84 m), has more space and a redesigned cockpit.
C-CAT 65
The new 65 (21 x 9.20 m), will be the new flagship of C-Catamarans, designed to be one of the fastest cruising sailing catamarans in its class, with a modern interior without sacrificing comfort.
