USED BOATS: They sell 5 boats for all tastes from 6 to 9 meters

From Jeanneau’s small daysailer, the legendary Sun 2000, to the Merani Aliseo, a nine-footer in cedar and teak, this week we go to see five hulls under the fateful 10-meter threshold. Small, some might say. But really, size is only relative to need, and these boats have so much to offer-even more than you might expect from them.

Trade Wind (9 m)

A classic 1960s sloop, the Aliseo was produced by Merani Shipyard between 1963 and 1974. The hull, built of cedar wood with a teak deck, has the typical contained beam of its time, as well as a still long keel, ballasted in lead. Qualities that make it an extremely good hull in terms of course keeping and gilt-top capabilities. The interior, on the other hand, leaves room for practicality and solidity, with 5 berths and an essential galley. The sail plan is complete, typical of the best vintage classics, with a wooden mast and traditional rigging. In short, even today, she is a decidedly well-regarded hull, a masterpiece of Adriatic shipbuilding. The 1962 specimen for sale is in good condition and boasts upgrades such as an autopilot, vhf, depth sounder, max-prop propeller, refrigerator, winter coat, summer awnings and a Yanmar 30 engine. Muja 26 (8 m)

Built on the basis of Harlé’s Sciacchetrà (Barberis), the Muja 26 is a classic 8-meter from the late 1970s, built by Cantieri di Muggia. Made of fiberglass, inspired by the excellent design of the aforementioned, she is a boat designed to ensure performance and maneuverability even with a small crew, thus offering a well-balanced sail plan. The interior then, although basic, offers 4-5 berths, sews services, favoring sturdiness and practicality. In the 1980 model for sale, the interior is mahogany, the references to rigging are all in the cockpit, and the engine, outboard, is an 8-horsepower Selva. J-80 (8 m)

Among the most popular contemporary one-designs, the J-80 is one of Johnstone’s small-great successes, an exceptional hull whose qualities, in no small part, have made it one of the benchmarks of race courses from the 1990s to the present. The hull for sale, ITA 501 dates back to 2002 and is a winner of the Lantern Championship in both 2024 and 2025. Included in the price are 2 mainsails, 3 jibs, Gennaker, protection sock, new Dyneema halyards and sheets, 2 Gennaker sheets, 2 winch handles, a tensiometer, and original cushioning. Also present are a 6hp Honda engine (3 years old) and a custom-made stainless summer bathing ladder. You can find out the full ad, price and photos HERE

Nytec 23 (7.2 m)

Small, planing, and versatile, the Nytec 23 is the quintessential trailerable dayboat in the late 1980s. A performance hull on the fun front, and still capable of lending itself to small cruising, it remains a boat for everyone. Beautiful and practical cockpit, self-emptying and with the mainsail traveller close to the helmsman, almost as if it were a “shunt.”

The model for sale, which can be seen on Lake Maggiore, is richly rigged, complete with battened North Sail mainsail (with 3 hand reefing and lazy bag), genoa, jib furler and racing spinnaker. Boom and mast are then oversized. A double forward and two aft berths are then on board, as well as the necessities for small cruising, utilities and galley included. The engine is an 8-horsepower Yamaha 2-stroke outboard. You can find out the full ad, price and photos HERE

Sun 2000 (6.6 m)

Designed by Olivier Petit, just 6.6 meters long-although packed with potential-the Sun 2000 is the dayboat par excellence at the turn of the millennium. And, with a few sacrifices, it is also much more than that: not only is it agile, easy to handle and fun, but it can also be a great weekender… Small, trolleyable, with a tilting drift and still with a well-organized interior and enough comfort, it is the hull for those who want to go boating without frills, without demands.

The one for sale, visible in La Spezia, is reported to be in good condition, offers up to 4 berths, installs a 5-horsepower Honda outboard -with alternator- from 2025, and offers all appropriate sails. There is also no shortage of battery chargers, solar panels, autopilot and cockpit shower. You can find out the full ad, price and photos HERE
