Three generations of Adria Ship: From left: Luigi Coretti, Gennaro Coretti, Eleonora Coretti. Missing from the roll call is Giovanna Coretti.

Even happy marriages end. After more than 25 years, Adria Ship is no longer the importer of the Slovenian shipyard Elan. An association that has flooded Italy with hundreds of boats that have made sailing history ends.

Just think of models such as the Elan 333 or Elan 37, today queens of the second-hand market(find bargains in our second-hand market here). Rumors of a divorce had been swirling for some time; the separation took place today.
The Coretti family, which has been holding a nautical empire for more than 30 years(here is the history of Adria Ship) that now includes a nautical hub of excellence in Grado (berths, service, brokerage, charter) and is the official dealer of the leading catamaran brand Bali and its two-hulled siblings Catana.

As far as monohulls are concerned, his solutions are varied: boats from the Polish Viko shipyard with a range from 7 to 11 meters and the prestigious Italia Yachts, which are somewhat the Porsches of sailing.

This is how the new Elan SixtyFive will be.

The future of Elan

Elan, in its early days state-owned today by the Luxembourg-based KJK S.C.A. Fund, with investments mainly in the Balkans, has in recent years changed its strategies from “large series boats” to “premium” boats. It is about to launch a new 65-footer (Elan SixtyFive) with a sophisticated carbon construction, coordinated and designed by Japek and Jernei Jakopin (J&J studio), old foxes in boating(here their take on the electric future of boats).

This new course of Elan Yachts does not coincide with Adria Ship’s strategies. Hence the divorce.
