The Genoa Boat Show , for a few days, was transformed into a microcosm. A place where size does not matter (not only for boats) and where figures take on relative meaning. Those who live by the sea know that it’s not just about million-euro mastodons. But that adrenaline rush is often found above water, on those marine toys that make the sea accessible to everyone, or almost everyone.

The search started after skimming yachts that cost more than an island. The goal was to find the hidden marine toys, the little gems, those that promise fun on the water without mortgaging your home. Here’s the marine toys we saw in Genoa, in the reel below (posted on the Journal of Sailing’s Instagram channel) and in the lines that follow.

Foiling continues to innovate…

First on the list is Lift X, the latest creation from a company pioneering the world of foiling. The new board, with the LCS system for quick foil attachment, is a small work of engineering art. Lightweight, agile, designed for pumping and surfing. Acceleration is progressive and clean. Unfortunately, the technology comes at a cost: 16,000 euros, including VAT. It is a high price, but in line with electric boards. It is not a toy for everyone, but technology and quality are paid for.

…And it also influences the automotive!

TheAudi e-tron eFoil by Aerofoils is the result of a unique collaboration between the German brand’s designers and aviation experts, who transferred technology and aviation inspiration to create an electric board capable of “flying” over water in total silence and without emissions. Thanks to a very small integrated motor, the eFoil combines performance and ease of use, enabling tight turns, high efficiency and excellent speeds. The avionics control system offers advanced level and safety adjustments, while the smart battery provides up to 2 hours of battery life, constantly monitored for efficiency and safety. The hull, mast and wings are made of ultralight carbon fiber for maximum stiffness and immediate response in all conditions; every detail is designed to provide the user with a premium worry-free e-foiling experience.

Marine Toys. Canadian electric watercraft debuts in Europe

Then, there is the 100% electric Canadian watercraft. Arrived in Europe right at the show. Quiet, powerful, with an instant thrust that sticks you in the seat. The absence of smoke and noise makes it a new experience. A jet ski that doesn’t disturb the quiet of the sea. With fast charging, it is ready in two hours for a two-hour interval in the water.

We then come to the JST-30 Sport Tender. Halfway between a tender and a jet ski, it is positioned in a hybrid segment. At 40,000 euros (including VAT), it aims to compete with brands such as Williams. It is not a toy for everyone, but it is an interesting solution for those looking for something different for their yacht.

Marine Toys. The real “toy” is this

The real surprise, however, came from Jobe and his Sea Scooter. Price: 999 euros. Accessible. It is less powerful than the famous Sea Bob, but definitely more practical for those who want a little boost for snorkeling or swimming. It is a tool that accompanies you, not drags you along. It may not be the most powerful “toy,” but it is definitely a product that makes the sea more fun at a reasonable price.

The Genoa Boat Show, in short, is not just a luxury showcase. It is also an incubator of innovation and a proving ground for the future of on-water entertainment, for all budgets, although in some cases the word “affordable” requires some elasticity.

100% electric watercraft that “copies” snowmobiles arrives in Europe

The Taiga Orca watercraft is born from the same technical expertise that brought Taiga Motors’ electric snowmobiles to success: the result is a high-performance, innovatively designed, all-electric vehicle designed to offer great handling, instant acceleration and quiet operation. Equipped with a composite hull and control technologies derived from motorsport, the Orca provides up to 2 hours of range, leveraging the proven reliability developed by Taiga in the snowmobile world and now successfully brought to the waters.
