It could become the phenomenon of summer 2025: we are talking about the new configuration of the X-FUN, the inflatable catamaran from Xtramarine, now also available in a Kiteboat version. An idea that combines the freedom of kitesurfing with the versatility of a boat, an inflatable catamaran to be precise, for an experience surely unlike any you have tried to date.
What is X-FUN Kiteboat?
X-FUN was born as an ultralight inflatable catamaran designed to be transported anywhere: it weighs only 30 kg in the basic version, folds into a bag, and fits in the trunk of a car or on the roof of a camper. But the real novelty is the possibility to equip it with a 10 m² kite (LibertyKite), turning it into a wind-driven sailboat without the need for a traditional mast or sails.
Key technical features
– Dimensions: 4 x 1.7 meters
– Weight: from 30 kg (without accessories)
– Capacity: up to 4 people or 350 kg
– Approval: CE category D
– Materials: dropstitch structure with 3 independent chambers for maximum security
– Modularity: possibility to add an electric motor (500W or 1kW), kite kit, accessories such as bimini, stainless steel ladder, front platform, action cam mounts and more
– Ready in 20 minutes: quick inflation with battery-operated electric pump (included in kit)
– Zero emissions: quiet and sustainable sailing, both with electric motor and kite.
How the Kiteboat version works

The Kiteboat kit, in its most complete version, also combines the X-FUN catamaran the 10 m² LibertyKite with a 1kW Remigo One electric motor, which doubles as a rudder while kiteboarding. The system is designed to be easy to handle, even for those without kitesurfing experience: the kite is launched and retrieved directly from the boat, with no need to enter the water. The whole thing is designed to ensure safety and fun, even in light winds.
Ready for anything, anywhere
– Transportable: everything you need fits in a bag, including the kite and electric motor.
– Quick assembly: in less than half an hour you are ready to set sail.
– Versatile: X-FUN can be used as a tender, fishing boat, bathing platform or, indeed, as a kiteboat.
– No license required: you drive without a license, either motor or sail.
