Lele Panzeri, well-known advertising creative and inveterate sailor (by the way, he is organizing creative sailing courses for September and October on his boat), after explaining to you why, in his opinion, bow mooring is better than stern mooring, and why meridians and parallels should be abolished-again according to him-is back with another of his tips dictated by experience on the boat.
THE FOUNDATION.
Being at anchor is very nice, everyone knows that, but if there are a lot of other boats around and there is a lot of wind you have to be careful.
The boat, under raffica, tends to “brandish” and come dangerously close to boats anchored not far away.
And then you often suffer tugs on the anchor chain that are very annoying.
I had an idea that I later found out was not very original.
You know the ketches that keep the half maybe very small on shore and stay nice and quiet?
Here-get a FOUNDATION.
As you see in the attached photos, it is a tiny triangular sail (2 square meters), completely flat to be rigged on the backstay.
Magically, the boat calms down and stays nice and straight upwind without lurching, brandishing, and tugging on the chain.
Costs little, yields much.
At least, that’s what I think.
See you soon,
Uncle Lele
