In this episode, we take you on a tour of Amel, a shipyard that has helped revolutionize the world of sailing, and cruising in particular, with timeless boats that have inspired so many generations of cruisers. Here we will tell you about the largest and most modern Amel, the ’60
Amel 60, the modern vision
Crowned “European Yacht of the Year 2020” in the Luxury Cruiser category, the AMEL 60 embodies nearly sixty years of French experience in building ocean-going sailboats. This 19-meter model in particular elevates the AMEL DNA with its protected central cockpit, a distinctive feature of the shipyard, which houses all controls to offer safe navigation even with a small crew. Equipped with a standard carbon mast and electric furlers, the AMEL 60 offers remarkable performance mixed with absolute comfort. Her three spacious double cabins, each with en-suite bathrooms, and her bright salon equipped with custom-made furniture in American walnut or light oak, create a unique art of living at sea.
AMEL’s technological innovation then is evident through the high-end equipment: efficient air conditioning, lithium-ion batteries, retractable bow thruster, and a full range of appliances, including induction cooktop, electric oven, dishwasher, and combination washer-dryer. And still the yacht features large sunbathing areas fore and aft. In short, a boat that has become a true global benchmark: more than 30 units sold in a dozen countries around the world testify to the success of this luxurious cruiser among even the most demanding international clientele, confirming Chantiers AMEL’s worldwide reputation for excellence and innovation in long-range cruising and deep-sea cruising.
