Harken’s story begins in the 1960s in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, thanks to the brilliant insights of brothers Peter and Olaf Harken. Now a 570-employee business in 20 countries around the world, its catalog consists of more than 2,400 items, to which must be added all those made custom.
In addition to its plant and headquarters in the U.S., Harken has a modern and sophisticated manufacturing facility in Italy, in Limido Comasco, where winches, captives, rails and more are made. We spent a day with the Harken Italy team to discover the secrets of how their products are made and to understand the values that have led them to be the absolute market leader.
We understood that everything starts from concepts such as innovation and sustainability, but also contamination and generational change… A fascinating journey of a company where tradition and technology coexist to make sophisticated high-precision objects that must work in extreme conditions and ensure great reliability.
