The eleventh edition of the Solaris Cup ended on a more than positive note; from May 29 to June 1, the waters of Porto Rotondo hosted 80 Solaris boats and nearly 1,000 people including owners, crews and enthusiasts, resulting in an event that combined racing and lifestyle in perfect Solaris style.

The unmissable annual event for the Solaris family.

The event organized by Solaris Yachts on an annual basis has now become a must for owners; for those who love numbers, the Solaris Cup 2025 was very diverse: there were boats from 37 to 111 feet, including the flagship Cephea. The most popular model was the Solaris 50, with as many as 18 examples entered, confirming it as the yard’s workhorse. Among the vintage stands out Bluette, a 1985 Solaris 48 One belonging to Lucio Carli, while the most recent boat was Emaliann 2, a Solaris 50 launched a few weeks ago in Aquileia. Seventeen nations were represented, with boats such as Stay High (Solaris 50) and Poseidon 2 (Solaris 58) from Chile, Saphira (Solaris 47) from Hong Kong and Bolero (Solaris 58) from the United States. Compared to the last edition, which had seen more than 100 boats registered, the shipyard preferred to limit the number of boats to 80 to avoid having to transfer some crews to other ports and keep the fleet united in one place; the spirit of aggregation and “familiarity” is a key aspect for the success of the event.

Solaris Cup 2025: Two days of racing, one great start

The races were held over two days, with the boats divided into three groups subdivided by length, but united by a single start. An exciting group start against the backdrop of the Gulf of Porto Rotondo, where the islands of Mortorio and Soffi served as natural buoys for the classic 14-mile-long “butterfly” courses. On Friday, May 30, the fastest boats finished the trials in about 3 hours, while the following day in just over 2 hours and 20 minutes the 11 miles of course No. 2 were covered, again with the islands of the Gulf of Porto Rotondo used as natural buoys. Outstanding over all was Giovi, Paolo Bastiani’s Solaris 55, which excelled in real and compensated time.

Tradition, innovation and passion

The Solaris Cup is now much more than a regatta: it represents the essence of the Solaris spirit. It is an opportunity for owners, designers, technical partners and crews to meet, united by a passion for excellence in construction and navigation. It is an event where the Solaris “family” meets from year to year, to meet new members, test their boats in “pulled” situations in total safety and talk directly with those who design and build these boats. The next stop will be in the Adriatic, in October, with the Barcolana Solaris Adriatic Cup 2025: a regatta within a regatta.
