The J/36 in the pipeline

Here are the first images of the new J/36, a “midsize” performance cruiser from the American shipyard J/Boats.

What the new J/36 looks like

A natural heir to the J/112E, a boat that has won success and acclaim since 2016 by winning numerous world and European titles in ORC and IRC classes, the new J/36 features a design with a vaguely classic appeal and cutting-edge technical solutions, bidding to be one of the most interesting and debated boats of the moment.

A boat for fast cruising, but one that winks at racing

Prominent among the J/36’s major new features is a completely redesigned deck layout. The cockpit, now wider and equipped with a double wheel, facilitates access aboard and simplifies maneuvering, while offering greater efficiency in racing and superior comfort while cruising. The boat maintains an essential sail plan, with a small mainsail and jib, combined with a sharp hull inherited from the J/112E, capable of high performance in all wind conditions.

What is it like inside?

The interior has also been thoughtfully designed: bright rooms, practical storage spaces, well-positioned handrails, and a redesigned descent to ensure a smooth transition between exterior and interior. With the J/36, J Composites reinforces its vision of high-performance cruising. Boat No. 1 will go into the water for the first time within two weeks.
