Mitek electric outboard motor

The deadline to apply for the ecobonus for marine engines has been extended until noon on June 10, 2025.

Ecobonus engine 2025, how to get it

Access to the non-refundable financing allocated by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy for the purchase of electric powertrains against the scrapping of endothermic ones had expired on May 8 (it had started on April 8), but the dicastery with an executive decree decided to extend the terms. A decision made both because the funds (3 million euros) earmarked for this initiative have not yet been exhausted, and to allow more time for users to prepare and send documentation to obtain funding.

As a reminder, the incentive is provided to encourage the ecological transition with the use of electric engines: it provides a contribution of 2,000 euros for each electric outboard engine equipped with an integrated battery with a power output of not less than 0.5 Kw and up to 12 Kw, and 10,000 euros for those outboard engines with an external battery, inboard, inboard-outboard or propulsion POD. A particularly interesting opportunity then, given the power and autonomy characteristics of marine electric thrusters, to convert without invasive intervention the outboard of a tender, small displacement boat or sailboat without an inboard; but of course the ecobonus can be claimed for any type of unit.

Ecobonus engine 2025, the limits

Funding is provided on a non-repayable basis and to the maximum extent of 50 percent of eligible expenses, and is capped at €8,000 in the case of individuals and €50,000 in the case of enterprises. Individuals can apply for the grant for the purchase of a maximum of 2 electric motors, while in the case of enterprises the application can cover multiple motors. Only expenses related to the purchase of the motor and any battery pack for use and installation on recreational units are eligible.

How to address the question

The application for the ecobonus should be submitted through Invitalia’s online application window (https://bit.ly/Invitalia_rottamazione) and is required to have a digital identity (SPID, CNS, CIE), a digital signature and a certified e-mail address (PEC). Among the documents to be submitted are a description of the expenses for which the subsidy is requested, an indication of the amount of the subsidy requested, and a suitable cost estimate showing the cost of replacing the engine (as well as that of a battery pack, if any).

Details of the boating license for recreational craft registered in the Central Telematic Archive of Recreational Craft (ATCN), or theDeclaration of Construction or Importation(DCI) for the recreational craft for which the electric propulsion unit is intended, showing the serial number of the endothermic engine to be scrapped, should also be indicated. The DCI is issued by Confindustria Nautica through a dedicated telematics portal https://dci.confindustrianautica.net/
