Classic Boat Club, the community dedicated to all sailing enthusiasts and owners of Classic Boats, is born!
Emerging from the great interest that the columnClassicBoat has registered and, above all, born to respond to the need to enhance and restore dignity to the great hulls of the past, the Classic Boat Club is, first and foremost, an attempt to celebrate and certify as historic all and series and non-series boats that have made sailing great and made us sailors fall in love with them. But, even more so, it is a gathering place, a platform that wants to unite enthusiasts, offering dedicated tools to reenact their history, telling the story of the boats and, why not, facilitating as much knowledge as maintenance, purchase or upkeep. Not forgetting the benefits.
In short, the Classic Boat Club aims to be a place not only for celebration but also for mutual support, offering benefits to all its members. The question is often: How? We explain it to you in this article!
Classic Boat Club: the benefits of being a member!
Let’s start with the basics. First of all, who can be a member? Basically, anyone who is even vaguely interested in the world of the beautiful boats that have made sailing great, whether they are series or one-offs, as long as they were launched since 1967, and at least 25 years old from the date of the first launch, theirs, in the case of one-offs, or the first model, in the case of series. Specifically, there are two modes of membership: a first, dedicated to anyone who is passionate, with or without a boat – the Crew Member; and a second, dedicated to owners who, in addition to passion, also wish to enhance the value of their boat, certifying it as congruent with the parameters of historical and collector value. This second one is the Owner Member variant.
Let us now look at all the benefits of being a member.
- PLEASE NOTE: Exclusively for the Classic Boat Club launch, you can become an Owner Member in minimal time at the Vela Cup in Cala de Medici (May 23-25). Just let us know by email (classicboat@giornaledellavela.com) or at registration to have your boat inspected on-site by the Classic Boat team.

Classic Boat Club: the benefits of membership
First, a premise: both variants hold an identical set of basic benefits, whether these Crew Member or Owner Member memberships. The difference is inherent in the additional set of benefits related to the focus of the ‘owner’ variant. Indeed, this one presents the registration of one’s boat with the Official Register of Classic Boats of Historical Value, which in turn is the source of additional benefits, which we shall see later, however. First and foremost, then, are the shared benefits.
Crew Members and Owner Members, indistinctly, receive:
