The Lunga Bolina 2025, the classic offshore race that takes place in Tuscan waters, with start and finish in Porto Santo Stefano after leaving the Formiche di Grosseto, Giglio and Giannutri to the left for a total of about 60 miles, goes into the archives. Quite special edition, with an unprecedented night start to respect the stop of sporting events on the occasion of the Holy Father’s funeral.
On the starting line 40 boats divided into IRC and ORC classes battled it out under an initially light grecale, but then along the course it strengthened to 10-11 knots giving a fairly fast pace to the whole fleet.
La Lung Bolina 2025 – The Winners
The overall handicap winner of the Lunga Bolina 2025 in ORC is Chestress 3 by Giancarlo Ghislanzoni of Yacht Club Italiano, a J 122 that arrived about an hour after Arkas Sailing Team Blue Moon. He is joined on the podium by Alberto Magnani’s Tengher, a Swan 45 also from the Yacht Club Italiano (also winner of the X2 classification), and in third place by Orion-Europsat, a First 45 owned by Giuseppe Luca Bolognese of Circolo Velico Fiumicino.
