Meno 30 giorni alla VELA Cup Toscana. Più di 50 barche già iscritte, perché non puoi mancare

Manca un mese all’edizione speciale della regata/festa della, la VELA Cup Toscana, da venerdì 23 a domenica 25 maggio (regata 24/25 e super festa sabato 24) al Marina di Cala de’ Medici a Rosignano. Conviene esserci se siete appassionati di vela e di mare. Siete tutti invitati, con qualsiasi barca ed equipaggio. Bravi, meno bravi, neofiti.

Più di 50 barche iscritte alla VELA Cup Toscana

L’interesse è alto, il divertimento è garantito. Sono infatti già più di cinquanta le barche iscritte, un record, con oltre quattrocento appassionati che animeranno la tappa toscana nel pieno della primavera di fine maggio.

Sarà una tappa speciale, si chiama VELA Cup Special Edition 50 del GdV perché in banchina si festeggiano i 50 anni del Giornale della Vela e in contemporanea si svolgerà la premiazione del Velista dell’Anno, presenti decine di velisti/marinai famosi che solo qui potrete incontrare.

VELA Cup Toscana, dove e cosa succede

La VELA Cup del 23/25 maggio, imperdibile, è nel cuore della Costa degli Etruschi, a poche miglia da Livorno, non lontano da Spezia e di tutti gli approdi toscani. Viene ospitata del Marina di Cala de’ Medici che offre ormeggio gratuito per due notti alle barche partecipanti e, se volete prendervi una vacanza sino al ponte del 1 giugno o prepararvi per la regata 151 Miglia, le notti supplementari sono a tariffa scontata per chi partecipa alla VELA Cup.

La festa in mare e a terra della VELA Cup inizia venerdì 23 maggio pomeriggio quando si apre il VELA Cup Point dove si perfezionano le iscrizioni (ci si può iscrivere sino a sabato mattina prima della regata), viene consegnata la ricca Gift Bag, i numeri adesivi di prua, le istruzioni di regata. Poi sabato 24 maggio arriva il bello. Alle nove di mattina in banchina a Marina Calata Ovest c’è il briefing per gli equipaggi con le anticipazioni sulla meteo di Meteomed. Dalle 11 tutti in mare per la regata lungo un affascinante percorso costiero.

Poi, dopo la regata che dura non più di 4 ore, si torna in banchina, ci si rilassa e si rassetta la barca, in attesa della festa in banchina. Dalle 18.30 circa si parte con la premiazione, dove “quasi tutti” vincono per merito (sono andati bene in classifica) o per fortuna (ricchi premi ad estrazione). Consegnato l’ultimo premio ci si raduna tutti insieme, equipaggi ed amici, per il cocktail VELA Cup con musica, food&beverage. Ma la festa non è finita, sale sul palco Il Velista dell’anno e poi si conclude con la proiezione del film di vela e di mare più emozionate del 2025, No More Trouble presente l’autore Andrea Romanelli.

Dicevamo, ad un mese dalla data del 24 maggio, quando si svolgerà la festa in mare e a terra della VELA CUP di Cala de’ Medici/Toscana, sono già più di 60 le barche iscritte.
Partecipare sarà speciale.

But also close to Schorch Mylius 66 RS, Mylius 60, Oscar 3 Mylius 65 winner of the last Maxi Rolex Cup.

There will also be another Maxi winner, H20, a 24-meter masterpiece by legendary designer Andrea Vallicelli who has won six Maxi Rolex Cups.

The smallest participating boats are the Vaurien fleet (4.20-meter dinghy), which provides some boats at the Vela Cup (for info write to: info@vaurien.it).

Speaking of “emblazoned” boats, with which to compare yourselves at sea (and maybe learn the secrets ashore, in front of a glass, with their crews): confirmed the presence of Chestress 3, Giancarlo Ghislanzoni’s J/122 “catcher” winner of the 151 Miglia and many regattas, of Mascalzone Latino, Vincenzo Onorato ‘s three-time world champion Farr 40, for the occasion refurbished in ultra-race trim.

You will then be at sea with lots of X-Yachts (at VC Toscana there will be a gathering of the X-Yacht Owners Association) of all sizes and ages.

Ready on the starting line you will also find some “out of the chorus” models such as the Latini 52 Kito 1930 or the Rodman 42 Cheyenne (the former boat of the King of Spain), “family” cruisers in pure VELA Cup spirit such as Bavaria 40, C32, Beneteau Oceanis and Jeanneau Sun Odyssey, Classic Boats such as Hallberg-Rassy 42, X-412, Grand Soleil Maxi One.

Domenica tutti in mare per la Triton Cup!

E la grande festa prosegue anche domenica 25 maggio! Il giorno dopo la VELA Cup si torna in mare con la Triton Cup, la seconda edizione della regata per la promozione dei siti marini e costieri Natura 2000, promossa dal progetto LIFE-A-MAR NATURA 2000. Nome diverso, stesso spirito della VELA Cup.
