The beginning of 2025 was marked with the many new developments that arrived from Boot Dusseldorf, the boat show that opens the year as always. Our editorial staff has been beating the length and breadth of the German show on the hunt for projects, newly presented or launched boats, to photograph the 2025 that lies ahead. But that’s not all, our radar is always on, and not only on boat shows, because other major shipyards that were not physically present at Boot also have their new products on the launch pad, which will then arrive in turn between next spring and fall.
Here is a review of the top 5, starting with the smallest metric range, 7 to 11 meters.
7.60 m – Tricat 6.90 / Tricat Trimarans

Trolleyable, foldable with a width that goes from 4.60 meters to 2.45, a displacement around 800 kg and a sail area that goes up to 32 square meters upwind. A proposition for coastal sailing, sport sailing and, why not, small nautical camping-style cruises. In fact, inside the Tricat 6.90 there is room for a small table, a camping kitchen and 3-4 beds. Data: overall length 7.60 m, width 2.45 – 4.60 m, draft 0.28 – 2.20 m, displacement 720 kg, sail area 28.70 sq. m. www.trimaran-tricat.com
NEW BOATS. 9.70 m – Maxus 31 / Northman

Maxus 31 has a clearly cruising setup, with finishes and details that are not expected from a boat of this size and low price (from 105,900 euros excl. VAT).
The cockpit is well protected by both the handguards, which also serve as a backrest for the benches, and the folding stern, which converts to a convenient beach if needed. The helm is wheel steering, unique given the size of the hull with a maximum beam of 2.99 meters. Data: overall length 9.70 m, beam 2.99 m, draft 1.50 – 1.95 m, displacement 4,900 kg, sail area 40 sq m. DISCOVER MORE.
10.33 m – First 30 / Beneteau

Beneteau’s newest addition is a boat designed for sport sailing, offshore racing and small cruising. The design features a hull with a stern edge that goes out almost immediately, and slightly V-shaped bow exits, fine but not too fine, with an aesthetic that is partly reminiscent of that of the First 36, but also winks at the smaller models in the range, derived from Seascape and also designed by Manuard. Minimal but functional interior for short cruises. WATCH THE VIDEO
Data: overall length 10.33 m, width 2.95 m, draft 1.98 m, displacement 3150 kg, sail area 58 sq. m.
NEW BOATS. 10.99 m – J/36 / J/Boats

The J/36 is the natural successor to the J/112E, a boat that has garnered so much success and acclaim since 2016. Among J/36’s major new features is a completely redesigned deck plan. The expanded cockpit, now double wheeled, simplifies access and maneuvering, improving both racing efficiency and comfort while cruising. Good interior roominess, with volumes also suitable for cruising use. DISCOVER MORE.
Data: overall length 10.99 m, width 3.60 m, draft 2.10 m, displacement 5,125 kg, sail area n.d.
11.00 m – Grand Soleil Blue / Grand Soleil

Cantiere del Pardo’s new Blue is in the news for more than one reason: it marks the Italian shipyard’s return to a boat under 10 meters, it is a weekender (a first in the brand’s history), and it is made in collaboration with Northern Light Composite, which provided its know-how, namely the thermoplastic resin that allows the boat to be recycled at the end of its life. The design is by Matteo Polli for the water lines, Nauta Design for the exterior and interior. WATCH THE VIDEO
Data: overall length 11 m, width 3.70 m, draft 2.20 m, displacement 3,300 kg, sail area 62 sq. m.
