There are 45 days left until the first VELA Cup of 2025: the Liguria Cup, which takes place in the Gulf of Tigullio May 2-4! And this year there is one more opportunity to choose to take a spring vacation and come to the VELA Cup: the May 1 bridge (or super bridge, adding April 25 and Easter. Here’s what the Tigullio leg will be like and what the other 6 legs of Italy’s busiest regatta circuit will be like.

This year we will keep you company with the VELA Cup from early May to early October. As many as six months of racing, shore parties and prizes for all-the “perfect recipe” (but not at all secret) that makes each VELA Cup so special.

It starts – as mentioned – with the VELA Cup Liguria held in the Gulf of Tigullio during the first weekend in May, and ends in October with the VELA Cup Sicilia held in early October – when it is still high season on the island – in front of the Aeolian archipelago.

The spring classic in Tigullio

There are 45 days to go before the first leg of the VELA Cup, which this year takes place in the picturesque Tigullio cornic, with a course that touches Chiavari, Lavagna and Portofino, letting all crews enjoy breathtaking views. This event inaugurates the circuit and offers a perfect opportunity to start the season: especially if you have your boat in Genoa or La Spezia, take advantage of the bridge and come to VELA Cup Liguria! The West Calata Marina in Chiavari is hosting boats coming to the VELA Cup from out of the area free of charge for Saturday night, and is offering mooring at a reduced rate for any additional nights.
