World Wide Charter has announced the opening of its new charter base in Portorosa, on the northern coast of Sicily. The operator, already active in the yacht charter sector with bases in Marina d’Arechi (Salerno) and Portisco (Olbia), has launched its new Sicilian base, already operational since Easter 2025, where it will serve as an ideal starting point for exploring Sicily but especially the fascinating Aeolian Islands.
Boating vacation on the Easter vacation bridge?
The Portorosa base will be operational as early as Easter 2025, and this year’s vacations offer a unique opportunity to plan a vacation. Between Easter, April 25 and May 1, there are in fact more than 10 days that can be devoted to a boating vacation, taking a few days off and taking advantage of the bridges. In Sicily, World Wide Charter can count on a fleet of 10 state-of-the-art boats, including catamarans and monohull sailboats, designed to meet everyone’s needs. This variety ensures that every crew can find the perfect boat for their Aeolian adventure.
The Aeolian Islands: an archipelago to be discovered
Portorož‘s location on the northern coast of Sicily provides a very convenient opportunity to reach theAeolian archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers a unique sailing experience in the Mediterranean. With seven main islands – Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Stromboli, Filicudi, Alicudi and Panarea – the Aeolian Islands offer views of breathtaking landscapes, crystal clear waters and a fascinating blend of history and nature.
Suggestive itineraries
The Aeolian Islands offer generally favorable sailing conditions during the summer season, with light breezes caressing the islands, but the spring season certainly offers an interesting opportunity for a taste of summer. Starting from Portorosa, crews can follow itineraries that touch the pearls of the archipelago:
- Volcano, with its smoking crater and famous mud pools
- Stromboli, to witness the spectacular nighttime eruptions
- Panarea, the most worldly island, with its hidden coves
- Salina, the green island famous for Malvasia and capers
