Do you know how a newspaper is defined? According to the law, it is “a collective work of genius.” That’s why at the big celebration for the 50th anniversary of the Journal of Sailing we have decided that you will all be invited and, above all, protagonists: everyone, all the 1,500,000 people who follow us every month. Not least because without you, the GdV would never have been born.

How do we involve you? Let’s start unveiling some of the cards of our rich program, because we are working for you…. And a word of advice: mark this date in your diary: May 24, 2025. Updates will follow.

First and foremost, don’t miss the special issue celebrating GdV’s 50th in July (in fact, the first issue of GdV dates back to July 1975): it will be a collector’s item that will contain the 50 best stories published since 1975, all the companies that have grown with us and are now international excellences in the world of sailing, and… you.

Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram(@giornaledellavela): we will ask you to send us your images that celebrate sailing, present, past and future. The best ones will be published in the special 50th anniversary issue.

We give you a piece of advice: to make sure you don’t miss it, subscribe now: also because we are sure it will go fast!

Send us your videos

It’s not over yet: we are making a docufilm to celebrate half a century of passion for the sea, and we need your help. On our website, in this section you can upload the videos you want: wishes, dreams, fears, reflections, sailing, bathing, anything.

Even, simply, what you see from the boat or the couch at home. All videos, even those you have made in the past and that you jealously keep on your smartphone or in your archive. It will be a collective social film where everyone who loves sailing will be featured and mentioned.

We have selected the best of what we have published in our history, hundreds of news reports from issues published so far. We scanned them to make them digital, retrieving them from the precious bound books that contain all the vintages.
