Cantiere del Pardo at Boot Dusseldorf presented the new Blue, the “little one” with a recyclable hull, but that’s not all: the Italian brand showed a preview of what will be the new Grand Soleil 80 Long Cruise, already under construction. It will be part of what has been defined as the shipyard’s Plus line, from 60 feet and up, which will have more and more customization possibilities.
Grand Soleil 80 Long Cruise, what a boat it will be
The shipyard’s new flagship will still bear the signature of the proven Polli/Nauta Design team, with the former taking care of the water lines as always and the latter of general deck aesthetics and interiors. The construction, which will be all home made for Del Pardo, will be sandwich construction with vinylester and epoxy resin and vacuum infusion lamination, with carbon reinforcements in the areas of greatest stress. The boat will be presented already in its basic version with a carbon mast and boom; however, the draft of 3.95 and the 365 square meters of sail area upwind also portend a good performance tendency as well as the absolute comfort feature for which the boat is designed. In the first model, 6 total cabins are planned, 4 for the owner and his guests, 2 for the crew area. The feature of the Long Cruise version will be to have the raised style interiors rise, elevated to take advantage of the 270-degree panoramic deckhouse. Aft are the double crew cabin and a fully equipped galley, as well as a chart table. With dedicated access, the crew can operate without interfering with the owner’s and guests’ spaces. The owner’s cabin will be forward, those guest cabins can be configured as doubles, twin with single beds, or convertible to pullman to suit the owner’s needs.
