In these 11 years of VELA Cup, we have seen all kinds of boats and crews participating in the events. The regattas/sailing events, conceived and organized by the Sailing Newspaper, are designed and created precisely to allow everyone to compete and have fun following their own style .
VELA Cup 2025, starring your boats
In the past articles in this series devoted to the VELA Cup, we have told you what is new for this 2025 edition and we have delved into various aspects of the event:
- The 2025 circuit stages: from May to October we will take you to see some of the most beautiful places in Italy, from north to south, seven weekends dedicated to the world of sailing.
- The new secret rating system: the new compensation system designed to balance the competition among the different boats entered in the race/sail.
- the participation categories: Cruising Boat for boats using only inferred sails (mainsail and jib/genoa) and Sport Boat for those using all sails.
- How to register and the prizes up for grabs: there are benefits for entrants and numerous prizes both for the competition and raffled among participants.

During all VELA Cup events, one of our photographers is always present, both at sea and ashore, to capture the best moments of all boats and all owners and crews.
Those who were present in past editions will be able to recognize themselves and share photos with friends. Those who were not there will be able to get a sense of the spirit of the VELA Cup. The last three years, after Covid, have been wonderful seasons for the VELA Cup, there has been a great participation and, in 2024, with almost 400 boats registered among the various stages, this sailing circuit, confirmed itself as the one with the greatest participation in Italy. Overall, thousands of enthusiasts arrived from all over Italy and Europe met thanks to the events. All the owners and boats are featured in our photos: these moments and memories, are part of the VELA Cup package.

What is the VELA Cup 2025
The VELA Cup is the regatta/festival circuit organized by the Giornale della Vela in the most beautiful places in Italy, from May to October with prizes for (almost) all participants. A perfect opportunity to experience the sea, whatever your spirit and boat: on the water and on land, experience a weekend of excitement.
