Magic Carpet is an iconic name in the sailing world, having represented the series of legendary boats of British owner Sir Lindsay Owen Jones. Another chapter in the saga is about to be unveiled; in fact, the technical launch of the new Magic Carpet 100, 30 meters in length, built by Italian Persico Marine to a design by Guillaume Verdier, took place in La Spezia.
Magic Carter – Official presentation in 2025
The launching and official presentations will take place in the Spring of 2025 in Saint Tropez: in fact, the boat after the “technical splash” in La Spezia will face the final outfitting phase in order to go on the water. Little is yet known about the characteristics of the project, but it is logical to expect that it will be in partial continuity with the philosophy of the owner who has always demanded performance boats, with which to take part in the most important international offshore races, but not extreme ones. Luxury super fast cruisers in short. A first detail that can be noticed about the new Magic Carpet is that, perhaps, in comparison with the previous Wally 100, the boat probably appears narrower. A decision perhaps dictated by the need to have a faster hull even in Mediterranean breezes, where Sir Lindsay Owen Jones often likes to sail in regattas and beyond. A boat therefore perhaps more all round, which will not give up an important level of comfort inside
