Recent boat shows have presented the public with all the new sailboats that brands have been working on; in the second installment of our market survey, we presented you with what’s new up to 12.50 meters in length. Today we go further, up to 17 meters, with sailboats of various types, cruisers and more.
15.80 m – Arcona 50
The Arcona 50 is a boat clearly geared for cruising, including long-distance cruising, but with a keen eye for sailing prowess, as has always been the case with Arcona models. The aesthetics are those reminiscent of the performance-cruiser world, with generous but balanced volumes, nearly inverted bow exits that are also appealing to those who like sporty boats.
There are two interior layouts, both with three cabins. The difference lies in the aft cabins and dinette layout. In one layout the aft cabins have single beds, and the galley is C-shaped as well as the sofa at the dining table. In the other layout, the aft cabins are classic, the galley is straight and a peninsula is inserted, and the sofa in the dining area is L-shaped. There are two bathrooms in both versions.

15.85 m – Stem 50
In 2024 Stem Marine opened a new division dedicated to sailing yachts, which is inaugurated with the Stem 50. It is a 15.85-meter cabin cruiser dedicated to blue water and fast cruising that condenses cutting-edge looks, high-tech solutions and into which the company pours all its know-how on aluminum craftsmanship.
The design of the Stem 50 is signed by French designer Nicolas Purnu, who trained in the prestigious Marc Lombard studio, and conceived a boat with marine lines, for all conditions.

L.f.t.: 15.85 m; w.: 4.34 m; draught: 2.40 m; displacement: 13.20 t; zav: -; sup. vel. 141 sq. m; berths: 6-10;
16.70 m – Solaris 55
The design is, once again, by Javier Soto Acebal (who had also designed, in 2017, the “old” Solaris 55: a different boat, less wide – 4.85 m beam – but equally elegant); the flagship boat of the new Solaris generation has an even “sleeker” hull line with an inverted bow and softened stern knee compared to previous versions. Also new is the cockpit layout with the wheelhouses placed at the end of the two sides.
Type: Fast Cruiser
L.f.t.: 16.70 m; w.: 4.85 m; draught: 2.70/3.00 m; displacement: 17.60 t; zav: 6.50; sup. vel. 176 sq. m; berths: 6-8;
16.76 m – MD55
In Franciacorta there is a shipyard that is a Made in Italy excellence that has built some of the most beautiful yachts of recent years signed by great designers, we are talking about Maxi Dolphin.
The yard has several new products in production, such as the new MD
55, a Botin&Partners design, a carbon fast cruiser with a minimalist style deck, almost totally flush deck. Double the rudder blade, for a boat that does not, however, have an exaggerated width and will have very versatile sailing performance, as well as a level of interior volumes that will be able to satisfy those who are also looking for comfort in addition to sailing prowess. A true jewel of the made in Italy.

This new boat represents the modern evolution of its predecessor designed by German Frers in 1987, The design of the new 52 was entrusted to Matteo Polli (naval architect) and Nauta Design (interior and exterior layouts), who reinterpreted the ideas of the boat whose baton the Performance takes. A performance cruiser with an eye on ORC racing.
