In the year of the Aquileia shipyard’s 50th anniversary celebrations, Solaris 55 is the embodiment of all the qualities of a boat designed to circumnavigate the globe by sea, or if you prefer, for a leisurely day trip.
Solaris 55
Argentine engineer Javier Soto Acebal signed the hull lines of this new Solaris, while all the technical part is the work of the builder’s in-house team. In particular, the hydrodynamic study defined a modern hull with a small bow chine that disappears into a round knee in the wide transom, which stops the maximum width of the hull at 5 meters.
The deck layout appears simple and clean, the result of specific attention and knowledge of the lines required by the latest market developments: 3 double cabins with as many bathrooms and the possibility of having a sailor cabin in the bow instead of a calavele is Solaris’ answer. The ambience is very warm and refined, thanks to the wood essences used and the study of the layout of the warm LED lights; the interior design, signed by Adi Design, is modern and elegant.
Above deck, on the other hand, guests will be welcomed into a spacious cockpit, with the characteristic double folding table for lunches and aperitifs on the water. Another feature of Solaris that is not missing from this new 55-footer is the folding transom, which conceals a very large locker that can be used as a garage for the tender or space used for sail storage. The very low deckhouse connects well with the rest of the floor plan, making it almost seamless and clear of obstacles, which are dangerous while sailing. The boat’s structure is characterized by the bonding of the three main composite bulkheads with hull and deck handkerchiefs to make it much more compact and less flexible; at 3 meters below the water level, the cast iron and lead keel is anchored with a coupling flange to the hull structure.
The design of this Solaris 55, as mentioned at the beginning, derives from 50 years of history and is the perfect fusion of cutting-edge design and traditional solutions.Solaris is very attentive to the requests of its owners and always listens closely to their advice to improve its boats.
