This is it, the departure of the Vendée Globe is getting closer and closer, on Sunday, November 10 from Les Sables d’Olonne the 40 skippers, with 6 women at the start, registered for the solo round-the-world race, without stopovers and assistance, will set off for the 25,000-mile race. First installment of The Vendée Globe Trial.
The Sailing Newspaper will follow the round-the-world with the Vendée Globe Trial, in partnership with Raymarine and Antal, a series of live talks broadcast on our Facebook and YouTube channels. The first episode will air today at 6:30 p.m. (link at bottom), then we will return live at the same time on Sunday after the start. We will continue with a weekly broadcast on Wednesdays, also at 6:30 pm. For today’s first episode we will have as guests the winner of the Mini Transat and Transat Jacques Vabre, Ambrogio Beccaria; there will also be our Sailor of the Year, Luca Rosetti, winner of the last Mini Transat. For weather and route analysis there will be “coach” Gianni Bianchini, and for equipment and boat focuses Antal Technical Application Manager Bernardo Zin, former project manager of several Italian ocean projects.
