8th Salerno Boat Show
These are the numbers (always on the rise) of the eighth edition of the Salerno Boat Show, the Campania nautical fair that will be held again this year at Marina d’Arechi from November 1 to 5, 2024, with free opening to the public every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It begins on Friday, November 1, at 11 a.m. with an opening ceremony attended by Campania Regional President Vincenzo De Luca and National President of Confindustria Nautica Saverio Cecchi. The presence of the institutions underscores the strategic importance of boating in southern Italy. Southern Italy accounts for 39.2 percent of the Italian nautical market, and Campania is the fourth region in Italy with the largest number of registered boats.
The event, a striking 40,000-square-meter showcase that promotes meetings between operators and clients, is hosted by the Marina d’Arechi, one of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean, with its 1,000 berths from 10 to 100 meters and a total water surface of 340,000 square meters. Sea trials of boats always possible during the event, with related assistance with mooring and shipbuilding services.
The meetings
It’s not just boats: two major conference events are scheduled. – On Monday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. the seminar “THE SEA AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: CONJUGATING THE BLUE ECONOMY WITH THE PROTECTION AND PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT” by FAI Campania. – On Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m., the conference “BLUE FORUM: THE VALUE OF THE SEA ECONOMY OF CAMPANIA” which will highlight regional data from the 12th National Report on the Sea Economy by OsserMare and Assonautica Italiana.
Marina d’Arechi’s record year
“The Salerno Boat Show,” stressed Marina d’Arechi president Agostino Gallozzi, “is confirmed as an important appointment for boating enthusiasts, who find in the scenario of Marina d’Arechi the ideal context to try out their boats. The same scenario also rewarded by a growth of more than 10% in every segment, including shipbuilding. Particularly interesting is the increase in the number of landings of boats in transit, that is, of yachting tourists who choose Marina d’Arechi and Salerno as a stop on their summer cruise. To date in 2024 we have recorded a record 950 landings – of which about 50 percent are Mega Yachts – compared to 850 in 2023 and 770 in 2022, with a growth in the two-year period of about 22 percent “.
