It closed in Lerici, with the last leg that was also valid as the Italian Championship, the J/70 season, one of the monotypes with the most boats in the water at the Italian and world level. There were 30 of them in Lerici to play for the podium for the Italian title and to define the J/70 Cup positions for this 2024. Graduating Italian champion is Luca Domenici’s Notaro Team, second in the overall standings of the event and the J/70 Cup, the first all-Italian crew in the rankings. A success that comes after winning the circuit in 2023, the European Championship and bronze at the World Championship. On board along with Notaro, helmsman and owner from Anzio, were Diego Negri, Michele Mennuti and Davide Bortoletto. Behind Notaro Team was Mauro Roversi’s J Curve, third place for Francesco Farneti’s YCRN ST.
“We are overjoyed,” said Luca Domenici, winning the Italian title after having already won the circuit in 2023, the European Championship and bronze at the World Championship is yet another confirmation of the extraordinary victories in this class that has given us so many emotions over the years.” The Lerici event in the Open classification saw the Americans of Rowdy take first place, who also won the J/70 Cup 2024 ahead of Notaro Team and Alessandro Molla and Tommaso Pavan’s Viva. Gianfranco Noah’s White Hawk won the Corinthian classification instead.
