There is one yard that makes “all-inclusive” bluewater boats and is having good success, to the point that it has had to move its production facility from Turkey to a larger facility in Poland. The yard is Kraken Yachts and its Kraken 50 can be considered a bestseller with 26 hulls sold: not bad numbers for globetrotting boats.
Kraken 58, the “all-inclusive” bluewater
Before introducing its latest addition, the Kraken 58 (17.67 x 5.20 m), it is good to explain the “all-inclusive” concept, also embodied by the new bluewater: the final price of the boat includes… everything. Because the Kraken 58 comes complete with every convenience and equipment required by “globetrotting” owners, and usually counted as optional extras. The list of outfitting is truly endless and includes generator, watermaker, air conditioning system, full sail game, induction stove, electric davits, bow thruster, synthetic teak on deck, cushions and even 0rm lines and fenders.
Kraken 58 – Hull and Deck
That said, let us go on to analyze the boat. On deck, the central cockpit, with a single rudder, is housed on the deckhouse that ends aft of the mast: this is raised, yes, but all in all, with a streamlined look thanks to the “wraparound” windows (for the benefit of brightness below deck) sloping toward the stern: in this case, lines were favored over the practicality proposed on some other bluewater boats, where the fenestration is sloped toward the bow to prevent wave spray from stopping on the glass.
The hull has traditional lines (no inverted bows, flares, edges). The hull shape, with its sloping bow, is designed to cut through waves, not slam into them, and this, combined with the conservative hull shape and long keel, should provide the boat with good stability.
Construction and keel
The construction of the Kraken 58 is interesting. Hull and keel are in one piece, with Kraken’s patented “Zero” long keel with internal lead ballast.
There is also a full-length unom skeg that protects the rudder from damage from collisions with semi-submerged objects.
The hull is solid fiberglass with an overall thickness of 21 mm (and more at stress points), which includes a single vtr skin from the bottom of the keel to 40 cm above the waterline. The top of the hull and deck have a structural foam core that provides rigidity, strength, and thermal and acoustic insulation.
Extra layers of aramid fibers (Kevlar), bonded in vinylester, are used in all impact-prone areas: fin, forward part of the keel, leading edge of the keel, forward part and base of the keel.
Interior
Going below deck: thehe decksaloon with kitchen, “living room” and direct access to the engine room also includes a control station from which the boat can be controlled in bad weather.
Three interior layouts are available: the first is with two double king-size cabins (master aft, guest forward) with dedicated bathroom and shower stall, plus a double with bunk beds.
In the second one in the bow are two doubles with bunk beds served by a third bathroom in the bow, and just aft is a double double opposite the second bathroom, somewhat sacrificed.
The third provides the four bunk beds in the bow, but without a forward bathroom: this frees up space for the double cabin further aft, which is more spacious than in layout two.

How much does the Kraken 58 cost? 1,945,000 euros + VAT, but, the yard assures, “you won’t have to pull out a euro more.” We recommend you take a tour of the website to learn about the boat’s equipment list in detail.
