With the world debut of Galma, the first model in the wallywind range, at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, Wally ushers in a new era of innovation in the sailing world.
The wallywind110 Galma , marks a new chapter for the shipyard, being the largest sailing yacht ever delivered by Wally since joining the Ferretti Group.“Even since Wally entered the Ferretti Group universe, it has continued to be Wally,“ explains Avv. Alberto Galassi, Chief Executive Officer of Ferretti Group.
“L ‘s goal is always to create yachts that are totally different from others in the sailing world.
With the wallywind110 we have managed to introduce something different: these boats are fully customizable in the Wally tradition, so no two will ever be the same, and this is combined with Ferretti Group’s industrial approach.” .
Un secondo scafo è già in fase di costruzione, a conferma dell’impegno di Wally nel mercato delle barche a vela di lusso.
Wallywind110, a masterpiece of design and performance
Designed by judel/vrolijk & co, the wallywind110 is distinguished by its sleek lines and all-carbon-fiber construction-the High Modulus hull, mast and rigging-a material of which Wally is a pioneer.
This choice ensures outstanding performance in both cruising and racing, allowing the boat to be maneuvered with a small crew.
The distinctive metallic blue hull changes hue depending on the sunlight, giving the wallywind110 an unmistakable aesthetic signature.
Galma. Born for the outdoors
One of the highlights of the wallywind110 is the spacious cockpit, a space of more than 80 square meters that is completely free of exposed technical equipment.
The area can be configured for informal dining, relaxing on loungers and conversations among friends, in line with the owner’s needs. The absence of steps creates a large flush deck that extends all the way to the stern to the aft sun loungers where the sea-facing deck is located, a signature Wally feature that allows one to fully experience contact with the water. Another distinctive element typical of Wally is the sleek, low profile, which gives the feeling of a completely uncluttered deck, where the deckhouse seems not to interrupt this continuous line. “The cockpit is deep, but from the outside of the boat you don’t notice it,” explained Luca Bassani, Founder and Chief Designer of Wally.
“This helps to hide the deckhouse, giving the impression of a flush deck yacht. In reality, the wallywind110 has all the advantages of a raised saloon without any of the aesthetic disadvantages.”
The interior of Galma wallywind110
The raised saloon offers a great advantage: the interior of the wallywind110 can be custom configured for the owner, with generous space for four guest cabins and three crew cabins, as well as the possibility of adding a TV room, office or bar. The collaboration between Wally and the Santa Maria Magnolfi studio has resulted in a contemporary design that combines light woods and carbon fiber details for an environment that is both welcoming and sporty.
Performance without compromise
Although a yacht designed for comfort, the wallywind110 does not sacrifice performance.
With a 4.50-meter keel (optional lifting keel up to 6.80 meters) and a sail plan of 635 square meters, the boat is designed for high speed and responsive maneuverability.
An optional square top mainsail can be chosen, which increases sail area by about 30 square meters.
The ability to deploy up to 1,296 square meters of aft sails allows for spectacular performance, making the wallywind110 ideal for fast cruising or racing.
According to Luca Bassani the wallywind110 “is perfect for experienced motoryacht owners who wish to explore the world of sustainable sailing yachts over 100 feet.
The ideal owner will be between 40 and 50 years old, a family that enjoys cruising in the summer, but also participates in one or two regattas a year with friends “. First impressions are enthusiastic, so much so that a second hull is already under construction with some optimizations.
