For sailing enthusiasts visiting the Genoa International Boat Show, September 19-25, there is a catamaran not to be missed.
We are talking about the Wave 60, a proposal from the Polish shipyard Wave Catamarans, a model that we can describe as authentically out of the chorus.
Wave 60 – What a catamaran it is
This 18.38-meter-long cruising catamaran with a beam of 9.45 meters is distinguished by a very distinctive design that features flaring of the hulls both fore and aft.
These are not the only distinguishing features of this Wave 60, which also has a special covering of the bow area.
In fact, the deckhouse has a kind of rigid front continuation, covered by the solar panels, and characterized by a peculiar V-shaped aerodynamic shape. In addition to housing the panels, this structure shelters a forward living area, and has an opening through which the forestay passes at the bow.
The structure goes to close at the forward end of the catamaran in a sort of dolphin boat.
Inevitable is the
fly bridge, where a settee/sundeck and the helm station find their place.
, while the
aftcockpit is directly connected to the inner halo
, which in turn gives direct access to the forward cockpit, all on one level.
