From the work of the VPLP studio, for the water lines, and Patrick le Quément for the interiors, and with the synergy of the owners of the Lagoon Seventy 7, comes the French giant’s new flagship, the Lagoon Eighty 2.
We are talking about the largest luxury cruising catamaran in Lagoon’s range, which starts at 12 meters and now goes up to 24.
The shipyard announced this at a press conference during the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Lagoon Eighty 2 – What it will be like
This is a super cruiser, designed on two decks, the lower one, which is totally covered, turns into a deck aft.
The upper one, which it is reductive to call a flybridge, as it is in fact another living area for lunch or drinks with a view from above, is covered by a hard top to keep it shaded.
The upper deck also houses the boat’s rigging and wheelhouse. The aft cockpit is designed so that it juts out to sea: a swim platform, which starts at the same level as the cockpit, extends out over the water, and on either side two descents have been designed via steps leading down to the sea.
Speaking of descents to the water, there is also a private one directly from the owner’s cabin at the front of the starboard hull. Going towards the bow are two glaring elements: the netting, which also visually lightens the catamaran, and the forward cockpit, yet another outdoor living area of a model that maximizes space.
The interior, with a basic 6-cabin layout, offers a salon on the same level as the aft cockpit, fully glazed, with virtually 360-degree views.
