Coming soon to us is Starlink’s new Mini antenna, which is a breakthrough in the world of internet connection aboard any boat, anywhere at sea at any distance from land.
Starlink Mini
This antenna, much smaller and lighter than its predecessors, is powered by 12 to 48 volts, weighs 1.10 kg, and measures only 30 cm x 26 cm.
It can therefore be installed aboard any boat, even the smallest.
For those who don’t know yet, Starlink is a satellite system owned by Elon Musk, the one behind Tesla, that allows you to have internet connection at all times, without interruption thanks to a system of as many as 6,611 satellites that guarantee intrenet service everywhere on the planet.
In the war between U.S. tycoons to conquer space with satellites that make the internet signal universal, another “paperon” has entered, Jeff Bezos of Amazon who has launched the new satellite internet service with mini-antenna called Kuiper.
The first satellites that will relay the internet signal back to Earth have already been launched, but it will still take at least a couple of years for the Kuiper/Amazon service, a rival to Musk’s Starlink, to be up and running.
How much does Starlink Mini cost
Only then will the cost of the service drop dramatically.
For now, in fact, the cost of Starlink is still high and prices continue to vary.
The new mini antenna for now costs $600 in the United States and subscription to the service $30 per month.
The satellite Internet war has just begun. https://www.starlink.com/it/boats
