The new Neo 600c

From Bari to the conquest of the world, this is how we could summarize the story of Neo Yachts, the shipyard specializing in building carbon performance cruisers. Neo owes its success not only to the creativity and tenacity of its founder Paolo Semeraro, but also to a precise market choice, namely that of making high-tech boats with a strong aesthetic characterization, going to revolutionize the classic cruising canons. Boats also sport and race boats of course, as shown by the Neo’s achievements particularly in offshore races, see the latest Aegean 600. One of the yard’s projects that will see water in the future is the Neo 600c, an evolution of the 570c, which will be the new flagship of the range.

It goes to delineate what we might call Neo’s Carkeek line, as the 570 and 600 bear the signature of the South African designer, while the rest of the models were designed by Giovanni Ceccarelli. Like the 570c, the 600c is flash deck style, with a look that smacks very much of a racer. The only element that is slightly raised above the deck is the end of the handguards, which extend to protect the two rudder wheels to keep them sheltered when sailing in rough seas.

The Neo 570c

Inside, the Neo 600 C will follow the idea of cruising that the shipyard has pursued from the beginning: modern, composite interiors that are lightweight and functional. There may be up to 10 berths, with 2-cabin and 2-bath and 3-cabin and 3-bath layouts, and some possibilities for customization. With a width of 5.30 meters, there will be no shortage of volume aboard the new 600, as evidenced by the aft tender garage that will accommodate a 3-meter boat with its outboard motor.

The Neo 600c has a displacement of around 14 tons (slightly more for the Keel lifting version, slightly less for the classic one), 6 of which are ballast in the keel, with a sail plan that upwind marks 225 sq. m. (with Square top mainsail), plus 400 sq. m. for the asymmetric. Numbers that define a sport boat, if you also consider the 4.20 m maximum draft that can be achieved with the lash lift. Also helping to right the boat is a 1,000-liter water ballast. The shipyard offers a choice of 1 or 2 rudders, depending on the intended use of the boat.
