The Gulf of Cugnana, between Portisco and Porto Rotondo, is a true natural harbor sheltered from the strong winds that characterize the area. The VELA Cup Costa Smeralda is a regatta open to all types of racing and cruising boats, small cabin cruisers and catamarans, with no age restrictions, no red tape or technical complications, and with rankings drawn up by length. You don’t need a set of racing sails to participate, just a mainsail and jib to enter in the Cruising Boat category, but, for those who are more sporty and want to use spi, gennaker or code 0, there is also the Sport Boat category.

At the VELA Cup Costa Smeralda, almost everyone can win something: there are prizes for first place in each category, the most beautiful boats, and Classic Boats (at least 25 years old). There are dedicated prizes for boats from Beneteau and Lagoon shipyards, and finally, there”s also the prize for the last place finisher and the boat that did the best performance (Leg Winner).
