The first stage of the Giro d’Italia a Vela 2024 from Genoa to San Remo ended with the victory of the Guardia di Finanza team composed of Guido Antar Vigna and Filippo Baldassarri. Until June 21 more regattas and events open to the public.
The Giro d’Italia a Vela, the highlight event of the Navy Pink Ribbon Tour 2024, has started in the best possible way. After the grand opening party, with official ceremony, registration, VIP regattas and entertainment moments staged in Genoa from June 14 to 18, it is finally time for the crews to get into action and set off on the first leg of this splendid circumnavigation of the Belpaese.
On Tuesday, June 18, the best men’s and women’s crews aboard the very fast Bénéteau Figaro Class 3s equipped with foils in fact competed in the first stage of the Giro d’Italia a Vela, the one from Genoa to San Remo, christened precisely the “Stage of the Flowers.” A long route that saw the fleet leave the docks of the Old Port of the city of the lantern” and move away from the Ligurian coast to the passage of Gorgona, Corsica, where the 71st edition of the historic Giraglia regatta ended a few weeks ago. The regatta was tight and full of excitement.

Taking first place in the final ranking was the Guardia di Finanza team composed of Guido Antar Vigna and Filippo Baldassarri. Leading the entire course, the Yellow Flames crew was able to dominate the scene in all weather conditions, from the becalmed conditions in Genoa to the sustained winds that challenged all teams, from the night of Tuesday 18 until the late afternoon of Wednesday, June 19, with the arrival in San Remo.
Behind them in second place came the Yacht Club Italiano team of Cupaioli and Micera, while Acone Associati’s crew of D’Opici and Andrea Sironi finished third. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 21 at 6 p.m. at the Regatta Village set up in Piazzale Lorenzo Vesco. Following this, the Food Space will be opened with tastings of the local Italian catch and the Super Disco Band Live Music show

And as the athletes of the “Figaro 3” prepare for the next leg, from San Remo to La Maddalena, races involving the super-fast Wazsp dinghies and the spectacular WingFoil will be staged on Thursday, June 20.
As a reminder, the Race Village will remain open to the public until Friday, June 21, and will welcome not only the athletes on the tour but also all sailing enthusiasts, insiders and citizens who will be able to discover the world of this 4th edition of the Giro d’Italia a Vela: stands, food trucks, Italian Sailing Federation Open Day and meeting areas await you where you can follow the races and breathe fully the passion for the sea, sailing and the beauty of the country.
The Giro d’Italia a Vela 2024 is organized by Difesa Servizi and Sailing Series International in cooperation with Enit – National Tourism Agency and the Italian Sailing Federation.

OBJECTIVE: The goal of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2024 is to promote offshore sailing in Italy and coastal tourism, as well as the presence of women in offshore racing and the new culture of environmental sustainability.
ORGANIZERS: The Navy Pink Ribbon Tour 2024 is organized by Defense Services S.p.A. in collaboration with Sailing Series International Sports & Events, and with the key support of ENIT – National Tourism Agency and the Italian Sailing Federation.
