Rimini – Fresh from its overall success in the 24 Hours of San Marino and second place overall at the 200 in Caorle, Team Bluenext is looking ahead to the third event of its racing season: the Galiola, an international offshore regatta organized by the Circolo Velico Ravennate that the TP52 Blue will face with a proven line-up.
Between June 21 and 23, the team of the Rimini-based shipowner Bonfiglio Mariotti, who in the twenty-four hours spent sailing between Rimini and Riccione has become more familiar with the complexities of the TP52, will welcome aboard the Tommaso Chieffi, five-time Ametica’s Cup and winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup with Il Moro di Venezia as well as twenty-eight-time world champion in different classes, and Spaniard Nuno Barreto, Olympic silver medalist in 470 in Atlanta 96.
Two sailing rockstars who will make an important contribution along the approximately 160-mile non-stop course linking Ravenna and the Croatian island of la Galiola, part of the Kvarner Islands archipelago. Located northwest of Unje and uninhabited, Galiola will represent the halfway point and should be rounded before beginning the return to the Romagna coast.
“For Team Bluenext, the 24 Hours of San Marino was a good moment of aggregation, it gave us the opportunity to enjoy the experience of a champion like Luca Rosetti (Sailor of the Year 2024) and to spend a full day aboard Blue, significantly increasing overall maneuvering hours. The overall victory in our home waters was that detail that allowed us to gain awareness comments owner Mariotti, who adds -An important training ahead of the Galiola, which with its 160 miles on the high seas, under the mouths of Kvarner, and the level entry list will represent a decidedly challenging race. With a high-performance and well-prepared boat like Blue, the logistical and organizational skills that set us apart added to a team like ours,in addition to winning line honors, we also aim to do well in the ORC classification.”
For the Galiola, aboard the TP52 Blue in addition to owner Bonfiglio Mariotti and team manager Fabrizio Boromei will be racing Federico Bressan (helmsman), Tommaso Chieffi (strategist/tactician), Nuno Barreto (mainsail/tactician), Pietro Parmeggiani (navigator), Santino Brizzi, Giammarco Carnevali, Giacomo Cinti, Claudio Magrini, Roberto Montanari, Gian Matteo Paulin, Davide Pazzaglia and Luca Pierdomenico.
