Summer is just around the corner, and the people of the sailing i rightly paw to get back on the boat as soon as possible. Finally, there are regatta enthusiasts who, even in the summer months, have a busy calendar of events available along Italy’s coasts and lakes in which to register and participate. There is one particularly attractive and original sailing sports event, however, that deserves special attention. Not only because Italy circumnavigates it all, allowing crews to discover and visit dream destinations, but also because it brings together the best of current sailing, in terms of high-performance boats and talented skippers. We are talking about the Giro d’Italia a Vela, the highlight event of the Navy Pink Ribbon Tour 2024, which this year is scheduled from June 15 to July 21. It is an enthralling 1,400-mile circumnavigation along the Italian coast divided into 9 stages, from Genoa to Venice, that engages the best male and female crews in 3 disciplines: Offshore, i.e., offshore racing aboard the very fast Bénéteau Figaro Class 3s equipped with foils; Inshore, i.e., trials between buoys under the coast with the acrobatic Waszp dinghies; and finally Board, i.e., sailing boards with the brand new WingFoiling class.
The Giro d’Italia a Vela 2024 is organized by Difesa Servizi and Sailing Series International in cooperation with Enit – National Tourism Agency and the Italian Sailing Federation.

The 9 stages of the Giro d’Italia a Vela 2024 are one more beautiful than the other. They start in Genoa on June 15 and reach to follow San Remo via Giraglia/Gorgona, La Maddalena, in Sardinia, Gaeta, Catanzaro, then Durres, in Albania, then Vieste, San Benedetto del Tronto, Chioggia and finally Venice where scheduled for July 20 there will be the grand final party.
