The smallest boat in the Swan shipyard’s history is a reality, Nautor has released the first sailing images of the new ClubSwan 28, design Juan K, the Finnish manufacturer’s new one-design with Italian management. A boat strongly desired by the shipyard, which wanted to offer One Design racing enthusiasts a “launching pad”; an entry level boat in the Club Swan Racing world.
ClubSwan 28 – What a boat it is
In summary, it is a boat intended to be a gateway into the world of Swan racing with a boat that is easier to sail than larger ClubSwans such as the 36 and 50, as this 28 is designed for 4-person crew.
“The goal of the project,” says Swan’s Head of Sport, Federico Michetti, “was to make a boat that was easy to steer and easy to sail, while still aiming to push the limits of performance.” For example, the ClubSwan 28 is without a backstay, and thanks to a lift keel, the boat can be easily trailerable. The hull is characterized by an angular stern that is vaguely reminiscent of that of the ClubSwan 36, and a bow that is fine but without being overly lean in volume.
The one-design’s official debut will be in September in Sardinia at the upcoming Swan Cup, while the Club Swan Invitational Sardinia Challenge will come in October.
