5 used boats from 8.99 to 15.60 m

Today we have scouted for you five good used boats from 8.99 to 15.60 m. They are very different from each other, some are newer, others more classic. But they have in common the build quality and the fact that “critics” immediately considered them, precisely, good boats. We present them in ascending order of length. A safe used car: guarantees the Sailing Newspaper!

Wauquiez Optio 9.0 – 8.99 m – More than a daysailer

The first of the used boats we offer today is distinctive and is much more than a daysailer. We are talking about a Wauquiez Optio 9.0 (8.99 x 2.55 m).

Elegant and technological at the same time, designing the first daysailer from the French shipyard Wauquiez was the Berret/Racoupeau pair in 2013, who opted for a hull with a marked edge. The deck is clear, while below we find an open space, except for the separate bathroom: perfect even for a short weekend cruise for two.

The open, tiller-steered cockpit is gargantuan, and the boat is easily maneuvered by two if not alone. The Optio 9.0 is at its best at carriers, with a nice asymmetrical roll-up.

The model for sale, which can be seen in Olbia (SS), is in perfect condition and has a carbon mast and bowsprit, hydraulically controlled lifting keel, mainsail, 100% jib, zero furling tails, gennaker. The engine is Yanmar 14 horsepower with a folding-blade propeller. The deck is made of teak.

Grand Soleil 34 – 10.18 m – Piece of history

The adventure of one of Italy’s most famous boat manufacturers, Cantiere del Pardo, started from the very second of the boats used under the lens. Just say “aft porthole,” and many of you already know what you are talking about. An Historic Classic Boat by Giornale della Vela, of course: a Grand Soleil 34 (10.18 x 3.44 m).

Designed by Jean Marie Finot, the first example was in 1972 and was a huge success. It traced the revolutionary concepts, for that time, of Finot: hull with full volumes even in the stern sections, medium displacement, very thin bow with flat entry.

Thus the Grand Soleil 34 was one of the most comfortable boats in its class, but also a very fast boat, capable of winning in races. The cockpit, for the time, was extraordinarily comfortable, and maneuvers were deferred to the aft side of the deckhouse.

The interior could accommodate up to seven people, arranged in a forward cabin, squared off in the two convertible sofas and two high berths at the broadside, and finally in an aft bed. Separate toilet, kitchen and charting. The quality of the fiberglass was excellent. The boat remained in production until 1983.

The model we offer is from 1980 and can be seen at the Rimini Marina. It has been lovingly cared for over the years, with numerous refits year after year. That’s why the boat is in perfect condition and ready to sail!

Bavaria 37 Cruiser – 11.35 m – Cruise but not only

We continue with the third of the used boats under review on our marketplace in search of a new owner. This is a Bavaria 37 Cruiser (11.35 x 3.80 m), progenitor of the German shipyard’s fast cruiser line, in production from 2006 to 2008. An 11-meter with excellent performance and modern, sporty lines, thanks to the pencil of Slovenian studio J&J.

While more “sporty,” the DNA of comfortable Bavaria-style boat for family cruising is fully respected. Comfort cockpit with open stern, generous volumes below deck. The boat was offered with two available configurations, the same for galley, saloon and charting, but with the option of having two or three cabins, with the toilet room arranged aft or forward depending on the layout chosen.

The model for sale, visible in Cagliari, is from 2007 and is ready to sail: it is equipped with every convenience, even a Webasto heater.

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.2 – 14.15 m – Bestseller

Let’s go up in size with the fourth of the used boats waiting for you on our marketplace. In production since 1995 first under the designation 45.1 and since 1997 with minor modifications, the Jeanneau Son Odyssey 45.2 (14.15 x 4.48 m) has passed the five hundred mark produced.

This is also thanks to the success of the four-cabin charter version, offered as an option with the three-cabin version. There is also a version with a two-meter longer mast that enables it to perform well in light winds. The other alternative is between long bulb (draft 2 m) and short bulb (1.60 m). Comfortable at the highest level, the large cockpit takes advantage of the design’s considerable width and the convenience of the two helm wheels that clear a passage to the stern, which ends in an equipped swim platform.

Inside, the square is developed with a galley broadside on the left opposed to a U-shaped dinette with ten seats. Two bathrooms and a chart table, in the owner’s version with a large stateroom in the bow, complete the interior layout of this particularly apt cruising boat.

The boat for sale is from 1999 and you can see it at Marina di Rimini. It is a full-optional model equipped with generator, watermaker, air conditioning, heater, hydraulic gangway, and oversized engine (88 horsepower).

Gib’Sea 52 Master – 15.60 m – Comfortable cruiser

The fifth and last of today’s used boats is a very comfortable long-lived cruiser that has remained in production a good 10 years. A Gib’Sea 52 Master (15.60 x 4.60 m). The first example of this model by Gibert Marine, designed by Joubert & Nivelt was launched in 1987, and ended production ten years later, in ’97.

Used Boats – Gib’Sea 52 (sistership)

At first it was called Gib’Sea 522, then from 1990 52 Master, finally with a 40 cm stern extension it became Gib’Sea 524. A typical comfortable and safe cruising boat, it was produced in versions from three to five cabins, always with three bathrooms. On deck characteristic are the two cockpits, for helmsman and guests, and the wide walkways.

Below deck, the dinette consists of a large U-shaped dinette set against a lounging area with armchairs and coffee table. Good quality of construction and finish.

The model for sale is from 1991-a good compromise if you are looking for comfort combined with an all-too “classic” design.
