Sicily could not miss the 40th birthday celebration of Lagoon, the leading French shipyard in the catamaran segment. Spartivento, which of this brand is one of the world’s leading dealers, organized the World Escapade in Sicily, between Capo D’Orlando and the Aeolian Islands, in mid-May.
Spartivento, which is also a leading charter operator in the Mediterranean with six bases in Sicily, the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany and Sardinia, gathered 120 owners , crews and staff to celebrate the event.
Sixteen Lagoon en route to the Aeolian Islands
The Lagoon World Escapade in Sicily kicked off on Friday, May 17, with a welcome ceremony at the Capo D’Orlando Marina followed by a banquet of local products and a fun themed quiz on Lagoon and Spartivento, with a prize awarded by drawing.
On Saturday morning as many as sixteen of the latest generation Lagoon catamarans, starting with the Lagoon 55 on which the Pizzi family (CEO Stefano and daughter Iole, Marketing & Charter Director of Sparticento) was embarked, from Capo d’Orlando Marina for a sail to Salina.
The sail stopped at the iconic Lipari stacks and a lunch and relaxation stop in front of the picturesque Valle Muria beach, where the catamarans performed a spectacular circle formation.
Guests enjoyed agourmet experience on board provided by SAILUXE Chefs, with a menu inspired by Sicilian tradition.

On Sunday, before returning to Capo d’Orlando Marina, a lavish brunch on board featuring local products prepared by SAILUXE Chefs, enjoyed in the beautiful setting of the former Lipari Pumice Quarries.
