The bluewater world marks the entry of a new brand dedicated to world spinning boats, Mishi Yachts, a brand of the Turkish-based Yonka shipyard. The company, which specializes in the construction of units for military use, has decided to enter the luxury sailing yacht market as well, and is introducing itself with the Mishi 88, already in the water, and the Mishi 102 project.
What boats are the Mishi
“Working with Taka Yacht Design, our intention has always been to bring the comforts of the motoryacht to the more refined platform of a sailboat,” explains the brand’s founder Åžakir Yılmaztürk, who is also the first owner of the new brand since the first 88, 26.82 meters long and 6.20 meters wide, which was presented at the last Cannes Yachting Festival, was intended for him. A boat that is characterized by a particularly sheltered cockpit, protected by a hard top, and a large clear area for sunbathing aft.
Yılmaztürk wants the brand to focus on boats dedicated to luxury comfort, but that can also be used by a family, so they must be safe as well as exceptionally comfortable. The yachts are built of carbon composite and sandwich foam by Yonca engineers, who have a long specialization in shipbuilding having been in the industry for many years now with the main shipyard.
The Mishi 102 develops the same features on an even larger scale than the 88. With a length of over 31 meters, it will be designed to accommodate 8 guests and 4 crew members.
“For years we have been building fast, seaworthy composite boats for navies around the world,” says the yard’s founder. “It made sense to take advantage of the yard’s laminating capabilities to build my 88-footer, and in doing so, I began a journey that led me to found Mishi Yachts.”
The Mishi 102 project will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2024.
