Transat CIC: Beccaria in the lead with 150 miles to go, Lipinski doesn’t let up

Stay between the buoy and the opponent. Perhaps this is exactly what Ambrose Beccaria is thinking, in these final stages of the Transat CIC. The finish line is 150 miles away, and it will not be at the foot of New York City, but only a virtual point to pass in the middle of the Ocean, since the finish line for safety reasons has been placed far from the coast. Ambrogio Beccaria and Allagrande Pirelli have just under a 20-mile lead to defend si Ian Lipinski and Credit Mutuel.
Transat CIC – The Last 150 Miles
This Transatlantic between Lorient and New York over the last few days has opened up again many times, with Beccaria seeming earlier to have struck the decisive blow, but with windless ridges allowing Lipinski to come menacingly back in the wake of the Italian, at times again in front. In the last transition Ambrose, sailing a little farther south, managed to stay in a stronger flow, and now, with the wind back steady and upwind, Lipinski’s chances are reduced.
Allagrande seems to have similar or at times higher speeds than Credit Mutuel, and in stable wind conditions it will not be easy for the French skipper to make up for it. For Beccaria, therefore, the last hours at sea are approaching, to be lived with the utmost attention to bring the boat to the finish line without mistakes, going after the second victorious transatlantic in Class 40 after the Transt Jacques Vabre, not forgetting the second place at the Route du Rum .
