Top 30 entrants in the VELA Cup Tuscany

There are still three weeks to go until the Tuscan VELA Cup event at Marina Cala de’ Medici. Among the first 30 entrants a tasty battle is expected between Arya, Giovanni Laviosa’s X-50, already Line Honours of the first edition of the VELA Cup Toscana, and Azzurro, Bruno Veronesi’s Swan 78, Line Honours last week at the VELA Cup Liguria at Marina di Chiavari Calata Ovest.

There is also no shortage of Classic Boats: those boats, including standard and fiberglass boats, that are at least 25 years old. Among these returns Tricky, the legendary 1969 Bianchi & Cecchi BC4 by Fulvio Empoldi, already the winner in Class 1 Cruising Boat at the last edition, Bella del sole, Renzo Razzi’s 1973 Barberis Tequila., Musonero, Moreno Burattini’s 1978 Comet 910, e Sin Sations, the 1988 Irwin 52 by Gianluca Nolletti.

But the VELA Cup is truly a regatta for everyone. Some people are learning how to JOYA, the brand new X-56 by Pietro Bernardini, those who often do pair racing as Marcello Bernabucci and his wife, aboard Jolie, a Beneteau First 45, and finally there are the friends of Optimal, the Dufour 530 of Antonio Lo Franco, who want to make as many as 4 stages of the VELA Cup this year!

Don’t have a boat but want to participate?

Don’t have a boat but want to participate in VELA Cup Toscana? There are two possibilities!

The first, as at every stop of the VELA Cup, MyMatchRace provides its platform for those boat owners who have the boat but are always short of crew. If you’re missing a bowman, don’t give up on the most fun sailing party ever, look it up on, the digital platform that helps you complete your crew with missing roles.

The second is to rent a boat or book a cabin aboard the fleet of boats of Sailor.Tex, the charter company based right at Marina Cala de’ Medici. For information write to or call 320 4085241.
