Already 30 registered for VELA Cup Toscana at Marina Cala de’ Medici

It promises to be a superweekend at Marina Cala de’ Medici on May 25 and 26, with the VELA Cup Toscana and the Triton Cup. Already more than 30 people have registered for the regatta in which everyone can participate, without red tape or technical complications. First come, first served wins! For those from out of town, there is free mooring offered by the Marina Cala de’ Medici, and on the evening of May 25, before the VELA Cup Toscana award ceremonies, you can meet Italy’s greatest sailors at the Sailor of the Year ‘s Evening of Champions and have a chat with them.

Top 30 entrants in the VELA Cup Tuscany

There are still three weeks to go until the Tuscan VELA Cup event at Marina Cala de’ Medici. Among the first 30 entrants a tasty battle is expected between Arya, Giovanni Laviosa’s X-50, already Line Honours of the first edition of the VELA Cup Toscana, and Azzurro, Bruno Veronesi’s Swan 78, Line Honours last week at the VELA Cup Liguria at Marina di Chiavari Calata Ovest.

There is also no shortage of Classic Boats: those boats, including standard and fiberglass boats, that are at least 25 years old. Among these returns Tricky, the legendary 1969 Bianchi & Cecchi BC4 by Fulvio Empoldi, already the winner in Class 1 Cruising Boat at the last edition, Bella del sole, Renzo Razzi’s 1973 Barberis Tequila., Musonero, Moreno Burattini’s 1978 Comet 910, e Sin Sations, the 1988 Irwin 52 by Gianluca Nolletti.

But the VELA Cup is truly a regatta for everyone. Some people are learning how to JOYA, the brand new X-56 by Pietro Bernardini, those who often do pair racing as Marcello Bernabucci and his wife, aboard Jolie, a Beneteau First 45, and finally there are the friends of Optimal, the Dufour 530 of Antonio Lo Franco, who want to make as many as 4 stages of the VELA Cup this year!
