awaits us in the heart of Salento for the third round of the VELA Cup 2024, the circuit of regattas open to all boats and all sailors (sports and non-sports). Come sail with us in the beautiful waters of Puglia on the weekend before the legendary Brindisi-Corfu, a historic international offshore regatta.

VELA Cup Brindisi, a step toward the East
An ancient crossroads of peoples and cultures, Brindisi is one of the largest natural ports in the entire Mediterranean Sea. “Gateway to the East” because of its strategic geographic location, from the Marina of Brindisi one can easily reach within 100 miles the coasts of Croatia, Greece, Montenegro and Albania, plying two seas, the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic Sea.
The VELA Cup Brindisi is the perfect opportunity to stop in Salento and set off on a long summer cruise in the Mediterranean. A regatta for all and a true celebration of sailing that everyone can participate in. No bureaucracy or technical complications, first come first served wins, and evening dock party with awards ceremony. There are those who participate in the Sport Boat category, using non-inferred sails such as spi, gennaker and code 0, and those who just want to have fun with friends and family, in the Cruising Boat category, with white sails. There are special prizes for those boats, including standard and fiberglass boats, at least 25 years old, the Classic Boats, and for the most beautiful boat in each stage (Elegant Boat). A breathtaking historical route
The route is breathtaking because we will sail close to the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve. A reserve and marine protected area covering an area of 1000 hectares or so and is considered an oasis between the land and the sea. Between sandy coves, transparent sea and posidonia meadows, the landscape of Torre Guaceto is the epitome of Mediterranean scrubland. It will be a spectacle to watch from the shore as the boats are paraded under sail.
Free moorings for those from outside
On the occasion of VELA Cup Brindisi, mooring at the Brindisi Marina is free all weekend. A strategic Marina, friendly and functional facility offering all the traditional services, from berthing with 650 berths up to 50 m, to toilets and showers, from the fuel station to a tourist office and a first-class boatyard. Recognized by ADAC, Europe’s largest automobile club, as one of the best port facilities in southern Italy, says President Claudio Gorelli, the Marina di Brindisi is easily accessible from all over Europe, thanks to its proximity to Brindisi International Airport, which is only minutes from the marina.
