We went to Grand Motte to theInternational Multi Hull Show 2024, the most important boat show reserved for multihulls.
An event not large in size, especially when compared with fall boat shows such as Cannes or Genoa, but also extremely interesting because it is very vertical, very specific. Only catamarans and trimarans are mentioned here.
Here you can see and visit new and old models and from all over the world and understand all the current trends
What did we see?
Multihulls: Speed vs. Space
First of all that it is flooding the gap between pure cruising cat, the “home cat,” and the sporty, performance cat. In both directions we see increasingly extreme choices.
Power cat to the rescue
The power-cat phenomenon is becoming increasingly important. Once it was the sail models simply deprived of the mast, now it is becoming a separate, interesting and evolved category.
Design, first of all
Increasingly, yards are working on design and aesthetics. In terms of interiors and exteriors. Once “lesser children” of “mono,” in this respect, they are now finding their own identity.
Charter-private shipowner gap widens
-World boating numbers say that the ratio of production for charter to that for private owners in the multi world is 70-30%.
Multihulls and sustainability
We can see, in this world, a real trend toward sustainability, in deeds rather than words, both in materials and propulsions.
